Design

　GECCA（ゲッカ）のデザインテーマは、 "リスペクト モダン" と "メカトーイ" の２つ。

　Respectable Modern --- リスペクト モダン ---
“丸いケース、大きな竜頭、ラグでベルトを繋ぐ”、腕時計の原型ともいえる古典的なレイアウトに拘り、モダンなスタイリングへと受け継ぐこと。個々のパーツを隠すのではなく、それぞれ存在感のある構成美を目指し、洗練された美しいシェイプを纏う。ケースを眺め映り込む光と陰を愉しむ。　

　Mecha-Toy --- メカトーイ ---
　時計好き又は機械好きの人は一度は感じたことがあろう“弄りたい”願望。自らツールを操る実質的な操作性と、視覚的、感覚的な精密機械への期待感。プロダクトに対する好奇心、愛着心が膨らむ仕掛けをつくること。

■ プロダクトデザイナー　當山　晋　略歴
武蔵野美術大学卒業。 レーシングコーチビルダーとして知られる童夢と、富士重工のデザインセンターにてキャリアを積む。 初代スバルインプレッサの開発ではエクステリアデザインを担当。 1993年 彗星舎を設立。車、弱電機器、香粧品等の商品開発を手掛けている。 2002年プロダクトブランド 「GECCA」を設立。機械式時計を核とするプロダクトの実験室として位置づけている。

GECCA is developed by 2 design themes.


・Respectable Modern
"Round face, Big crown and 4 Lugs for strap" This is a traditional styling since wristwatch was born. GECCA becomes the modern watch using its layout. We should design a new modern style of wristwatch through it. We think Shape is important for GECCA.

・Mecha-Toy
"Operating Watch by Tool" The persons of the mechanical watch preference have an urge "touching operating own watch" They have substantial operability and the admiration to being visual, the precise machine having to do with a sense that manipulates a tool personally. If they can do it, they would have the curiosity and the devotion feelings to the product more and more.
